The reindeer husbandry in Norway

The reindeer herding industry utilizes c. 145.000 square kilometres, which is about 45 % of the land area in Norway. Norwegian herders utilize 11 different regions for herding. In addition, Swedish herders are granted access to summer pastures in the interior of Troms county. Norwegian herders share their ranges with c. 30 lynx families and c. 27 wolverine families.
